Omkar Nitsure

Hello, I am a Senior at IIT Bombay, majoring in Electrical Engineering, with a Minor in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, where I have taken advanced graduate courses like Advanced Machine Learning, Advanced Image Processing, and Advanced Computer Architecture.

I am passionate about NLP, Uncertainty Quantification, Automatic Speech Recognition, and Computer Vision. Currently, I am working as a student researcher at CSALT Lab, IIT Bombay, with Prof. Preethi Jyothi, on improving the performance of ASR systems on accented English speech. Along with ASR, I am working on High-Resolution Spectral Estimation(HRSE) with Prof. Satish Mulleti for my Bachelor Thesis Project.

In the summer of 2024, I interned at Texas Instruments, Bengaluru, in the Signal Processing group. I characterized and minimized non-linearities with memory introduced by the transceiver PA for high-bandwidth 5G/6G telecommunication applications using digital pre-distortion models and different Machine Learning techniques, improving the ACLR metric by 16%.

Apart from academics, I love watching sports like cricket and tennis. I enjoy traveling and am a huge fan of Indian food. I like watching a variety of films and particularly enjoy the movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
